Albert O. Albert O. : Good product
Whilst we usually use ant powder on paths and in the garden, I am wary of using it around our vegetable beds / in the greenhouse etc; and of course powder isn’t ideal for use in the home, where you can occasionally get ants. The advantage of this ant killer is that it is probably more environmentally friendly than traditional ant powder, non-toxic, and safer to use around the house (and veg crops).I find ordinary ant powder does take effect very quickly, not instantly (as this infers it does), which is important. It also claims to stop the ant life cycle, which is good. Unfortunately, just now (mid-January, frozen ground!) I cannot find any of the little blighters to test this on. However, for the purpose of this review, now, I have taken the claims at face value. HOWEVER, as soon as ants are present again, when warmer weather arrives toward Summer, I shall test this properly and update this review accordingly (to either verify, or dispel the claims). In all honesty, ants dropping dead upon contact with this spray isn’t a deal-breaker for me, so long as it does kill them reasonably quickly. The benefit of this is the fact it’s clear, Water-based and solvent-free, allowing use in more sensitive areas, particularly around veg crops. For pathways etc; normal ant-powder is fine, and does the trick. As already noted, the fact that this isn’t messy and unpleasant looking (like ant powder), it makes this far more suitable for in the home, and around vegetable crops etc; which is what I shall retain and use for.In summary, this is great for the house, and around food crops, but obviously ideal for wherever you have an ant issue. No mess or residue, and according to manufacturer claims (to be verified), highly effective at killing as well as halting the life cycle of ants (all types). This is a large trigger spray bottle (1 litre), so actually not that bad value, and a super product if it lives up to its claims!I hope that you have found this helpful

chicchick: Please read review re pet use
I have ordered this off Amazon because my husband hates flying ants. It is not ant season in the UK at the moment so I can't use this yet, but will submit an update to this review once we get ants. I have rated this with 5 stars because I do believe reading the ingredients list and researching them that this will effective against ants. It does say it will kill bees and is dangerous to aquatic life. The warnings etc on the bottle will allow you to keep the humans and pets safe, but read my comments below. Once I have used the product fully I will re-rate if it's not as effective as I believe it is likely to be.In the meantime, and in the interests of the Amazon Community and our furry friends who live with us, I have read the ingredients list and it is not going to be safe to use near cats unless you follow the exact guidelines. The product will have to be totally dried before you allow the cat in particular to go near the treated area. This is because cats groom so much and one of the active ingredients is very toxic to cats, they have no tolerance to cypermethrin, unlike dogs that have a little. So in order to use safely, the product would need to be completely dry before the cat could tread on the area. This will be about an hour for outdoors and about 2-3 hours for indoors dependent on the weather. The product has strong chemicals in it, there are lots of warnings on the bottle, provided you follow the instructions carefully you will be okay to use this product. With all products you should always consider any pets, children or persons with asthma before using and use only in well ventilated rooms, opening the windows before spraying and avoiding contact with skin and eyes in particular. If you use the product indoors it would be best to exclude everyone from the area treated until completely dry!I will mark my diary to remember to use and review this product again. I do try to be very thorough when reviewing and actually use the products and test them fully so watch this space.I have bought this product to use outside, so I would use it in the evening once my cat is in, because then it will be thoroughly dry by the morning.
CjW & KjW: Big bottle, will last some considerable time
Big bottle, will last some considerable time.Ideal for the flying ant season.I don't mind ants, but stay out of my house, so nests right near the patio doors have to be discouraged, especially the flying ants.
Mark: Best prepared
I can't wait to try this out, i have a patio area around the back garden and i know beneath there's loads of ants, when it gets a bit warmer i want to try lifting a few slabs and squirting the blighters with this stuff. The ant powder i used before appears to be more of a deterrent than a killer, by running it along the back door step etc it was useful for stopping them marching into the house, but doesn't appear much good at killing the source especially the eggs and larvae. These pest control sprays from Ready steady all appear to be provided in large 1 Litre bottles making them bigger than average trigger sprays, they also seem to be pet friendly suitable for use inside and out, and target eggs, larvae and pupae as well as the adults. The product info states it continues to kill all ants and protects the treated area for up to 12 weeks, which if proven in practice is great, it's also slightly cheaper than the other products in their line up, roll on spring the countdown has begun.
Jala Jala : Fast and long lasting!
This is an effective product and long lasting on surfaces so it should keep ants away.It is Cypermethrin based which is a synthetic products widely used as an insecticide. I intend to use it not just indoors but also outdoor when red ants attack my lawn. It is easily degraded on soil and plants so it is not harmful to my garden, but can be effective for weeks when applied to indoor surfaces.
