S Bruce: 5.0 out of 5 stars Classic design, solid build quality, serious business
A mouse problem is only something we’ve encountered recently, but we’ve ended up throwing three different brands at the problem in the hope that we can nip it in the bud before it escalates. We’ve also learned that we won’t get instant results, so I’m having to write this review before being able to assess a proper catch- but I’ll come back and update this review if something notable does happen. We got two traps, with no boxes. Some of the product photos show the traps cased inside larger plastic boxes, but for the avoidance of doubt, the two trap pack priced at a tenner doesn’t include these boxes, only the traps.Compared to the other brands we’ve tried, including Roshield, these are reasonably solid traps that feel fairly standard. They look a bit more brutal than some other brands, with that classical Tom-and-Jerry-style mousetrap shape. They have a good industrial-looking weight and heft to them, with some serious and heavy-duty metal sections, which is good as I was worried that they’d be flimsy plastic that wouldn’t be strong enough to do the job when the moment comes. But I’m confident that these have a serious snap to them.Priming them is easy enough, and they feel safe-enough when not primed. There’s an instruction sheet provided, which has a little handy information on it, but not as much handy information as the other brand we bought. In particular, it’s arguably missing some advice about good placement, and about not handling these traps with bare hands as rodents will be put off if they can detect human smells near the traps. It’s better than nothing as an instruction sheet, but if you’ve got a rodent problem you’re not already an expert about, it’s probably worth reading up a bit more online beyond what the sheet tells you. These are a solid option and should, hopefully, do the unpleasant job we needed them for.
RK RK : 5.0 out of 5 stars Well constructed, very powerful and compatible with enclosed bait-boxes.
The media could not be loaded. I’ve historically used the traditional wooden block traps with varying success so was keen to see how these more modern versions would compare. The plastic construction is solid and easy to keep clean. The trap can easily be set and in doing so your fingers don’t need to go near the kill-bar.The bait recess is a great idea; it’s easy to add some peanut butter or dried fruit and the “cup” stops the bait being taken without activating the trap (as can sometimes happen with the traditional traps).Another great feature of these traps is their compatibility with the enclosed bait-boxes. See the photos/video showing just how well this works.Overall these traps are well thought out and well executed. If you’re using them as stand-alone traps be very careful though because they are extremely sensitive and can easily be triggered inadvertently.Recommended!

OllieL OllieL : 5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and strong
Good strong traps with nice sized indent for food. I tend to use peanut butter or chocolate spread and the rats love it and it goes in the cup well enough that they have to stand on it to get it. What i like about these are there are a few holes in the corners to i can screw these down to a piece of wood. I have found some of my older ones did not have this as if it is not a nice clean kill the rat can walk off with your trap and you can loose it.

2 x Rat TrapsAs we live close to a river we do tend to have a problem with rats this time of year. I have to use a combination of traps and bait to keep them under control. Here we have 2 large rat traps which should help with the situation. There are a few things I look for in a trap, that is: build quality, strength, powerful jaws and a trap that's not too obvious, this meets all of those requirements. Another important feature is the ability to attach a lanyard so the trap cannot be dragged off by a captured rodent, often a partially trapped rat can drag a trap a long way if not secured.I do favour this style of trap over others as the thin bar that snaps down is efficient, it usually deals with the animal as humanely as possible. Although it is important to check your traps at least once a day as a partially captured rat may suffer.I have tried many types of rat traps over the years, I find this to be one of the most efficient. The current price of £7.99 seems acceptable too.CONTENTS:2 x Rat TrapsThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.
Woolster: 5.0 out of 5 stars Big traps for big rats
Received these two rat traps and are similar to the smaller ones I have used before to catch mice. Just bigger for rats. Very strong spring so be careful of your fingers as this will hurt. Chocolate or peanut butter is best to put in the bait hole and once the rat leans in and touches the trigger plate its almost an instantaneous snap. WIll usually break rodents neck.I did lose a few of the smaller mice versions and my theory is they caught a mouse and a fox took them away for dinner. Not sure, but when I went back to check the traps they just wernt there. Will see how long these last. I have a summer house and I do not want rats moving in underneath and the cats have an unhealthy interest in the neighbours shed and sit for hours looking under it. These traps will catch any unwanted visitors. Will place them out of the reach of the cats
