SR: Does what it says on the bottle!
We noticed small grub like insects and tiny beetles mainly in our kitchen and bathroom which I believe to be carpet beetles and bought this in my 'try anything' attempt to get rid of them.Sprayed at floor level around skirting and appliances, I kept both rooms ventilated for several hours after treatment.Went back into the rooms after abut 40 minutes and there were dead bugs on the floor! I cleaned the floor and when i went back into the room 30 minutes later there were more! I'm Delighted this is working, will definitely buy again.
Curious Magpie Curious Magpie : Insecticide Spray for Carpet Beetles – Really Works!
This carpet beetle killer spray came packaged in a plastic bag to protect against any leakages and I’m pleased to say that there were no leaks partially due to the fact the spray nozzle was shipped separately. This spray protects fabrics which contain natural fibres (the food of the carpet beetle larvae) including carpet, clothes and curtains from infestations and is very effective and easy to use. This 1 litre bottle of solution contains 0.1% w/w cypermethrin, 0.01% w/w pyriproxyfen and 0.05% w/w chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium extract which disables and eliminates the carpet beetles by targeting the eggs, larvae and adults to stop the breeding cycle and disinfects the treated area.We have had a carpet beetle problem in the past and know the damage they can do if left unchecked. We have wool carpets and I understand that the treatments that the carpets come with initially do wear off over time so I like to spray our carpets on rotation to prevent the issue ever coming back – these kinds of sprays are an excellent defence barrier. I used a spray almost exactly the same as this to remove the problem in the first place so I know this stuff works and you only really need one thorough application in combination with a good clean to get rid of an infestation. However, it is so easy for small insects to find their way into your home, particularly if you leave doors and windows open in summer, so I now like to prevent rather than deal with an infestation again. Before we started using insecticides, I used lots of natural remedies but nothing works as well as the sprays.I’ve tested this spray and it doesn’t stain, and although it does have an odour and I would suggest that you spray the solution with a mask on to protect your health, the smell isn’t overwhelming, but I would suggest vacating the room for at least an hour after application. As it is solvent free and water based it doesn’t leave a lasting scent either and it is safe for use around children and pets. To treat an infestation, make sure you clean the affected area thoroughly and where possible wash any clothes / fabrics. Regular vacuuming also helps keep on top of any issues. As this is a biocide it is important to take note of the instructions and use carefully. An application can last up to 12 weeks which I find works well.Priced at £12.99 at the time of reviewing it isn’t the cheapest but these sprays really work and this particular one is good value for money – I would definitely recommend it.

Nick Rees: Carpet beetle infestation problem.
Had a small infestation of carpet beetles in my bedroom which gave me the ick, so I ordered this straight away. Sprayed it on my carpet, corners of the room and on my windowsill as they come in from outside and then breed and eat your carpets and soft furnishings. Spraying and regular hovering got rid of them and in about two weeks, they had disappeared. The scent is quite strong so I'd advise spraying it then vacate the room while it settles.
Mark: Keep one in stock
I may be tempting fate but i haven't as yet noticed any carpet beetles around my home, i have however noticed silverfish occasionally and previously having had carpet moths during the warmer months, taking drastic steps to eliminate an infestation (introduced via a piece of soft furnishing) in replacing all my carpets and soft furnishings a year or two ago. This makes me infinitely aware of what these things are capable of when left to infest, therefore i have no intention of not being prepared, just in case.Check out this company for their other pest control products too, these trigger sprays are a really good size at 1 litre, keep them in a cupboard until the time comes and don't get caught out.Recommended
